Another four points for the Scimitars' in their EPL Cup double-header against Telford. Sunday saw the return leg with Telford no doubt smarting from their emphatic 5-2 defeat on home ice on Saturday.

Sunday saw a much improved Scimitars performance in front of a good crowd with the team back to full strength as Dowd returned after sitting out a two match ban. The Scimitars' dominated the offensive attack in the first period, the scoreline being held to 0-0 by Telford's netminder, Betinec. Again, in the first period there were more penalties and physical hockey, with Schutte amassing all 20 Scimitars' points against Telford's 30, by ending the period with a fight against Stanton after cross-checking and tripping encounters.

The deadlock was broken in the second by Dowd who slotted home the first goal off a great rebound pass from Towe at 25.03. Some skilful hockey resulted from the minimal penalty count with the score being held down to 1-0 by some good netminding.

Schutte scored at 40.44 after some great work by Stewart to make it 2-0. Telford increased their offensive strike in the third period to test Pasi Raitanen in goal, but to no avail as he turned away 16 shots with some athletic saves to maintain his well-deserved clean sheet. The young British contingent demonstrated their skill and determination, aided by the experience of Millie, Stewart and ever-present Shudra.
